Call for entries, a brief for Deaf Creatives

Open Call

From the findings of the culture strategy consultations, key aims included community ownership, valued artists and creativity.

This call for artists aims to tackle these key aims and create a space for creative expressions.

This is a call for entries for Deaf creatives to submit a miniature installation.

the Brief

We want to present a cabinet of creativity, and invite you to take a drawer. As a metaphor of

space, and possibilities.

This is an opportunity to have something

of you displayed in CodeBase, one of Edinburgh’s popular creative space.

Express your self...

If you are up for it, please send us an email and book a drawer, to make a miniature exhibition of your skills.

We will need all the drawers back by the 10thof March, and then we will be happy to have it in display for the Deaf Heritage workshop on the 5thof April.

Deaf Heritage Collective

The Edinburgh Workshop

The installation will be displayed in the occasion of the 3rd Deaf Heritage Collective workshop that will be held in CodeBase this April, the theme will be "creative space". We aim to develop the conversation about Deaf Culture after the BSL Act (Scotland) 2015. Therefore, we invite deaf Creatives totake part in this to tackle the BSL Act aims and create a space for creative expressions.

The Deaf Heritage Collective is a collaborative project led by Edinburgh Napier University's Design for Heritage team and Heriot Watt's Centre for Translation & Interpreting Studies

in Scotland.

The aim of the collaboration is to advance the discussion around the BSL Scotland National Plan (2017) and the implications for the cultural sector.
